I have sat through enough press briefings to know the choreography by heart. A question goes in, a pirouette comes out, and everybody applauds the footwork so loudly that nobody notices the question is still standing there, unanswered, holding its coat. At some point you stop being annoyed and start taking notes. That is how The Spin Room was born.
What The Spin Room is
The Spin Room is our collection devoted to the performance art of not answering the question. It gathers the whole genre (the deflection, the pivot, the triumphant restating of nothing) and prints it on something you can actually wear. Think of it as a press gallery for your torso, except here the truth gets a seat in the front row and nobody cuts its mic.
The residents
Start with Feed the Facts ~ Everyday Supersoft T-Shirt, which reads like a care instruction for the national discourse. The Spin Is Garbage ~ Everyday Supersoft T-Shirt skips the diplomacy and files the official review. Without the Spin ~ Everyday Supersoft T-Shirt proposes a radical experiment: a sentence delivered straight, no rotation added. And Seeing Through the Spin ~ Everyday Supersoft T-Shirt is for the moment the trick stops working on you entirely... which, let us be honest, was several news cycles ago.
Who the collection is for
This collection is for the fact-checkers by temperament. The people who mutter "that is not what they asked" at the television. The ones who can enjoy a good show and still insist on knowing what actually happened. No credentials required, just a working memory longer than one news cycle (a rarer qualification than it should be).
Around here we keep one standing project: make lying wrong again. The Spin Room is that project in Everyday Supersoft form. The cycle will keep turning with or without you... you might as well be dressed for it.
